Day 1
It is no sooner than this idea came to me, that my son, 2.5 years old
and full of gusto, decided to be the subject of my first 'real' post.
Today he decided to defy logic, defy the natural order of things...It still baffles me. I get the whole intake, output (in proportion) thing. I am a hands on mommy that after her kid has only eaten a cracker all day, has remarked "Wow! You MUST feel better after THAT". I've had full conversations with parents about input/ output diaper experiences, while my non breeding buddies try not to listen and go off to book vasectomy appointments. This is different...
My son had 3 outputs today, the first, normal. The second (the fact he had a second) more unusual, & disturbing. He had put his hands down his pants... great. Scrub scrub scrub, & back to the day. Now his third required him to be stealth, something he has a hard time being, but he found a way! Nap time... the dreaded nap time. A time most parents look forward to, and I AM one of them, except that it is completely unsupervised time, time you tuck them in, read a story or two, and leave them to fall asleep.
Today, he did not sleep, today he had output #3, stayed silent for 30 minutes, whilst he took off his pants, then his diaper, and used his poo, like any kindergartener would finger paint... sigh...
nothing like a mid day bath, while your 3 month old is crying, whaling for your attention, and scrubbing poop off of hands, backs, buttocks and ... well everywhere else. 4th load of laundry? Check!
The day winds down with some frozen pizza, a movie, hugs, kisses, a skipped night time bath & some bed time stories, crossing my fingers to not have an output #4.

New beginnings
My first ever blog entry... where to begin really...
An introduction I suppose, that seems to be the place to start. My name is Jennifer, I am a daughter, sister, mother, partner. This is my journal of sorts, a no holes barred, honest catalog of my life in 2013. In 2012 my life changed in such a positive way, and 2013 will be even more life changing. You see, on October 1st 2012, I became a mother for the second time. If that wasn't life changing enough, December 23rd, my long time, common law partner of 6 years & 13 days proposed to me, in an effort to keep me quiet (ok, that's a bit of a lie).
So the year of 2013 will explore my life changing to that of a married woman. My life experiences as a mother of two, my goals of getting back into shape, and fitting in that dress! My follies, my triumphs, my everyday life.
I hope you can laugh with me, and cry at my expense, as the year 2013 will no doubt bring many stories for me to share.
